Former Virginia firefighter gives emotional apology at his sentencing

VIRGINIA — An emotional and apologetic former Virginia paramedic arrested and subsequently fired for abusing drugs on the job this fall was sentenced to three years probation Monday.

As part of his sentence, John Rudolph Ditzler, 41, of Virginia will also have to enroll in the Range Drug Court program.
