Detecting Narcotic Tampering (Tuesday at 8:30 AM)
Through a review of case histories, this presentation reveals that narcotic diversion occurs in our industry more frequently than most realize. A hands-on section allows participants to discover how to spot tampered-with narcotics. Known methods of tampering are discussed and a new technique for checking narcotics prior to patient administration is demonstrated. An update regarding current research into field applicable technologies for identifying tampered-with narcotics will be given.
